BALLS!!!
Lisa is excited to announce her new release to Canadian Radio!!! "Balls" (Elizabeth Cook/Melinda Schneider) has just hit radio waves!!!
"Sometimes it takes Balls to be a woman"...is the fun, country, toungue-in-cheek way that Lisa expresses her image as a vivacious, strong, independent, woman in the music business, in her life and in her role as mommy to her 2-year old little girl!!
Balls is just plain country FUN!!!
This song is the vehicle by which Canadian country radio can encourage smiles, laughter and a sense of traditional country flavour on their radio waves!!!!
Call your fave radio station and ask for Lisa's "Balls".
Have fun with it, enjoy it, share the song with others!!! Have the Balls to request Balls!!!
The title track of Lisa Hewitt's album, "Fearless" was inspired by her friend- a survivor of Breast Cancer; penned by Hewitt and her pal and co-writer, Duane Steele. It has become an anthem for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation!
As Ambassador and Spokesperson for The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (Prairies/NWT), Lisa Hewitt organized and hosted her first annual "New Year! New Hope! New Years Eve Bash" in her home area of Gibbons, AB. On a cold winter's night the room was filled with warm generosity, as a packed venue of 300 people danced the night away and raised total proceeds of $16 000.00 for The CBCF!! What a way to kick off this new year of 2010!!
Special thanks to CFCW for presenting this event and to Lisa's husband, Rob, friends and family who lent their hands and hearts to make this evening possible!!
Lisa looks forward to the 2010 release of the fun-filled song, "Balls"!!

After 12 years in the music business, local singer, Lisa Hewitt, says her latest album is" a reflection of the knowldge" she has accumulated in that time. Hewitt burst out of the gates in the late 90's and quickly established herself as a performer and entertainer who could command the complete attention of an audience, whether at a rodeo dance, at a cabaret or in a concert setting. The gal with the big smile and even bigger voice came with the kind of work ethic that served her, and her fans and promoters, well. She received solid support from local and regional radio, and a couple of years ago, CMT producers were impressed enough with Hewitt's talent and lens appeal to give her a featured role in a reality series called "Plucked". Not long afterward, Hewitt decided it was time to start a family with husband, Rob. Schedules changed once baby Abigail was born. Time during the pregnancy was used to write, find new material for a third album and record tracks for what would be titled "Fearless". "I was fortunate that I was able to perform right up until two weeks before our daughter was born, so we were able to road-test some of the material we were considering for the album", says Hewitt, who is now back to performing. Last week, she hosted the Global Country Rising Star Gala and two weeks before that, she was headliner at The St.Albert Rodeo. Tonight, Hewitt and her band officially release the "Fearless" disc at The Dow Centennial Centre in Fort Saskatchewan. The lead track, "Better in Texas", already sits at No.3 on the CFCW Canadian chart. Then there's "Starting All Over Again". When we performed that song a couple of years ago at "Taste of Chicago", when we were sent there by The Alberta Foundation for the Arts, it got an incredible response," adds Hewitt, who was just appointed as an ambassador for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. As for the concert this evening, Hewitt will invite a number of guests onto the Dow Stage, including Duane Steele and Joyce Smith, as she runs through two sets of material.
